Mintz committed to Kentucky on Friday and will be immediately eligible for the upcoming season as a graduate transfer, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The former Creighton guard will add a veteran presence to a Kentucky backcourt that is expected to lose three key contributors (Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey) to the 2020 NBA Draft. Mintz turned in the best of his three seasons during his final year at Creighton in 2019-20, averaging 9.7 points and 3.0 assists over 35 starts. He'll likely compete with incoming freshmen BJ Boston, Devin Askew and Terrence Clarke for one of the two starting jobs up for grabs at point guard or shooting guard.
