Healthy again after surgery
GMissouri
July 22, 2019
Smith (ankle) has made a full recovery from the surgery he required in March, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-4 Smith enjoyed a productive, yet injury-plagued first season in Columbia in 2018-19 after transferring over from Illinois. He drew starts in 17 of 19 games for the Tigers and averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 triples and 1.6 assists in 28.4 minutes per contest before missing Missouri's final seven games. Now that he's back to full strength again, Smith should be in store for a vital role once again with the guard-rich Tigers, who will add Evansville transfer Dru Brown to the perimeter ranks this season. Along with the two Browns, sophomore Javon Pickett and Torrence Watson should handle most of the minutes at either point guard or the other two wing spots.
