Catches fire from deep in return
GMiami
March 11, 2020
Lykes (eye) came off the bench Wednesday in Miami's 69-64 loss to Clemson in the second round of the ACC Tournament, finishing with a team-high 21 points (7-16 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
ANALYSIS
A lacerated eye kept Lykes sidelined for the Hurricanes' regular-season finale against Syracuse over the weekend, but the junior sharpshooter was cleared to play Wednesday after checking out OK in warmups. Though he came off the bench for just the second time all season, Lykes wasn't impacted by the role change, as he reached double figures for the sixth time in seven games while shooting efficiently from the field and from distance. With the loss, Miami sits at 15-16 overall, so Lykes' season could be over unless the Hurricanes are invited to one of the second-tier postseason tournaments.
