Wichita State announced Tuesday that Allen has been dismissed from the program following his June 13 arrest on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence property crime and petty theft, the Associated Press
Allen was arrested after a woman accused him of causing a disturbance at her home and destroying her iPhone and stealing keys before leaving the premises. After looking into the situation, Wichita State acted quickly to part ways with Allen, who had joined the program last May as a transfer from West Virginia and sat out the entire 2018-19 campaign. The 6-foot-5 forward was expected to start and take on a prominent scoring role for the Shockers in 2019-20, so his dismissal represents a costly loss. Allen will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
