McClung announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he will transfer to Texas Tech.
ANALYSIS
McClung has found a new home just two weeks after withdrawing from the 2020 NBA Draft and opting to enter the transfer portal following his sophomore season at Georgetown. Barring a waiver from the NCAA, McClung will have to sit out the 2020-21 season, but he should provide a huge boost to the Texas Tech backcourt when first eligible as a redshirt junior in 2021-22. During his final year at Georgetown, McClung averaged 15.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 triples and 1.4 steals in 26.9 minutes per game while shooting 39.4 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from three-point range.
