Johnson announced Saturday that he'll join Xavier as a graduate transfer for the 2020-21 season, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson will make a jump up in competition after spending the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Gardner-Webb. As a junior with the Runnin' Bulldogs last season, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 three-pointers, 1.7 steals and 1.2 assists in 32.2 minutes per game while shooting an impressive 41.1 percent from downtown. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Johnson could step in as the starting shooting guard for a Musketeers squad that will be losing graduating seniors Tyrique Jones, Quentin Goodin and Bryce Moore along with Naji Marshall to the professional ranks and Dontarius James to the transfer portal.
