Undergoes wrist surgery

July 31, 2021
Champagnie went under the knife for wrist surgery Tuesday, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Champagnie had apparently been dealing with wrist problems throughout the NBA Draft process, which he withdrew from in July. The junior will now look to correct the issue, though he's still expected to be back by October. St. John's will live and die by the contributions of Champagnie this season, as he's by far the team's leading returning scorer at 19.8 ppg, in addition to 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks. The 6-8 forward is a legitimate contender for Big Easy Player of the Year, provided he can put a full season together.
