Lands at Duke after all
CDuke
April 5, 2020
Tape announced Sunday that he's recommitted to join Duke as a graduate transfer for the 2020-21 season, Evan Daniels of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After leaving Columbia following the 2019-20 season, Tape committed to Duke on March 24, only to withdraw his commitment just over a week later. The center took the last few days to reassess his options and ultimately determined that sticking in Durham was the best fit for him after all. Expect the 6-foot-10, 232-pound Tape -- who averaged 11.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steal in 22.8 minutes per game during his last active season at Columbia in 2018-19 -- to contend for the starting center role in the likely event that freshman Vernon Carey elects to leave school early and enter the 2020 NBA Draft.
