Garcia committed Wednesday to join Georgia as a graduate transfer from Stony Brook, Andrew Slater of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
One of a slew of Stony Brook players to enter the transfer portal earlier this month, Garcia quickly found a new home at higher level of competition and will be eligible to play immediately for Georgia. Garcia ranked third on Stony Brook in scoring in 2019-20 with 13.4 points per game, and he also chipped in 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contests. While he'll likely struggle to maintain the level of usage he enjoyed at Stony Brook, Garcia should at least settle into a regular rotation role with minutes up for grabs on the wing following Anthony Edwards' entry into the 2020 NBA Draft and Jordan Harris' graduation.
