Returning to Howard
Williams has removed his name from the 2019 NBA Draft pool and will return to Howard for his senior season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams wasn't viewed as a likely draft selection by most outlets, so his declaration for the NBA was mostly just a means of receiving feedback from talent evaluators. After ranking second in the MEAC in scoring with 17.9 points per game in 2018-19, Williams should have a great opportunity to take his offense to even greater heights with backcourt mate RJ Cole transferring to Connecticut. Cole (21.4 points per game) was the only MEAC player to outpace him in scoring, and his departure creates a major usage void that Williams will be asked to fill to some extent.
