Mitchell entered the NCAA's transfer portal shortly after Tennessee State wrapped up its season, Mike Organ of The Tennessean reports.
ANALYSIS
After redshirting as a true freshman in 2017-18, Mitchell only saw action in three games last season for the 9-21 Tigers, averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 5.3 minutes. Given the lack of playing time he received for a poor-performing low-major program, Mitchell may struggle to receive a scholarship offer from another Division I school as he explores a transfer. A return to Tennessee State or a move to the Division II ranks might be a more realistic outcome for Mitchell.
