Pozzato will be out at least the first two months of the season after surgery to repair a torn MCL, Rick Broering of 247Sports.com reports. Coach Richard Pitino did not put a timeline on the swingman's return, but guessed he would be out until January.

Pozzato is a 6-7 forward who transferred to Xavier from Evansville. He averaged 14.9 points and 4.4 rebounds as a freshman in 2024-25. Look for starters Isaiah Walker and Tre Carroll to get a small bump in minutes while Pozzato recovers. Ian Sabourin could see a few reserve minutes as well.
