Returning to Monmouth
Papas announced April 27 that he withdrew from the transfer portal with the intention of returning to Monmouth for his fifth and final year of eligibility in 2021-22, All Facts Media reports.
ANALYSIS
Papas' return is a huge win for the Hawks, who already lost a double-digit scorer from 2020-21 in Deion Hammond to the professional ranks and another key backcourt contributor in Donovann Toatley to the transfer portal. As a fourth-year senior last season, Papas averaged 12.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 treys, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 27.9 minutes per game over 20 appearances. The 6-foot-5 guard will step into an even larger playmaking role in his final year of eligibility, and he could contend for a spot on the all-MAAC first team.
