Young enters the month of February having reached double figures in five of his last six appearances and currently averaging 12.4 points a game versus conference foes. The junior is also currently contributing 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 takeaways a showing in 27.7 minutes playing time in league matchups.
ANALYSIS
A career-best 27 points against Cal State Bakersfield on Jan. 30 paired with four consecutive appearances having reaching double figures between Jan. 9 and Jan. 23 to lift Young to a 12.4 points per game average in conference play to close out the month - a significantly higher figure than the 7.3 points an outing he manufactured over the course of Utah Valley's non-conference schedule. The junior also combined for 18 rebounds, 12 assists and eight blocks in UVU's first seven league matchups to boost his current stat line versus WAC foes to 2.6, 1.7 and 1.1 a contest, respectively. His median 26 minutes playing time for the year is hardly exceptional, but should only increase as the Wolverines head deeper into conference waters in February - and his overall numbers along with it. As such, fantasy owners should regard the cousin of NFL quarterback Vince Young as a player to monitor as conference tournaments draw ever closer.
