Set to begin pro career
Baker said Monday that he plans to sign with a non-NCAA-certified agent and forgo his remaining eligibility at Michigan to begin his professional career, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Baker began his career at Duke in 2018-19, but because he appeared in only four games that season as a true freshman, he may have had the option of completing a sixth year of college basketball at Michigan in 2023-24 if the NCAA granted him a waiver. The 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward is ultimately choosing not to pursue a waiver and will instead embark on his professional career. He started in five of his 34 appearances during his lone season at Michigan, averaging 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in 16.5 minutes per contest.
