Hampton announced via ESPN's Get Up on Tuesday morning that he will forgo a collegiate career to play professionally in Australia.
ANALYSIS
Hampton had been a consensus top-10 recruit for the class of 2019 after recently announcing his reclassification, but in the end, will pass up the NCAA ranks altogether. The 6-5 guard had offers on the table from all of the usual suspects -- Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Memphis -- but will ultimately elect to get paid immediately instead. He's a highly regarded NBA prospect with dynamic range and shooting ability, and if he stays healthy and continues to develop physically, look for him to show up again as a lottery selection in the 2020 NBA Draft.
