Fru also drew the start at center in an earlier exhibition against Kansas, and while he had just a single point in that effort, he did pick up three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Aly Khalifa was at one point thought to pick up the starting center job after coming over from BYU, and while he's played an equal amount of minutes in both exhibition games, it's been in a reserve capacity. Fru may be one of the season's surprises after committing to Louisville late in the 2024-25 season. He spent the previous year playing for Loewen Braunschweig in Germany, where he put up 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks across 39 games, which includes FIBA Europe Cup action. He also competed with the German national team in 2022 and 2023 on its FIBA U20 squad, so he comes with plenty of high-level basketball experience.
