Former No. 1 receiver Terrence Toliver (knee) is expected back at full health by 2018 training camp, and his presence is likely to reduce the profile of Hamilton's other wideouts to an extent. However, given Saunders' strong play and ability to contribute on special teams, he figures to retain a solid role in the team's plans next season.

Saunders (undisclosed) is on the team's official depth chart ahead of Friday's game against Ottawa.

Saunders did not practice Wednesday, so the news isn't too surprising. As a result of his absence, Junior Collins will line up as the No. 2 slotback.

The speedy 25-year-old has been an integral part of Hamilton's offensive renaissance since Jeremiah Masoli took over behind center, and he now stands just 23 yards shy of the 1,000-yard mark for the season. He'll look to accomplish the feat against the beatable Alouettes secondary in Week 18.

Saunders tallied six receptions for 94 yards in Friday's 30-13 win over the Blue Bombers.

Saunders continues to impress as the season winds down, with Friday's effort serving as his fourth in the last five games with at least 80 receiving yards. Saunders has also hauled in a pass of over 30 yards in each of those contests, with the only missing element to his performances being touchdowns. Saunders has crossed the goal line only once over that span, but he's now just 99 yards shy of 1,000 yards receiving on the season. He'll look to achieve that mark in Week 17 against the Stampeders.

Saunders tallied five receptions for 121 yards in Saturday's 43-35 overtime loss to the Argonauts.

The 25-year-old speedster went from rags to riches, bouncing back from a Week 14 blanking to post his second 100-yard effort in the last three weeks. Saunders posted his second-best YPC figure (24.2) in the process and has compiled 19 receptions for 347 yards in three of his last four contests. With Jeremiah Masoli settling in nicely behind center, Saunders is becoming increasingly easier to trust as a DFS tournament option. He'll look to put together another stellar effort in Week 16 against the vulnerable Blue Bombers secondary.

Saunders totaled 10 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 27-19 loss to the Riders.

Saunders and quarterback Jeremiah Masoli helped keep the Ti-Cats in the contest, with the receiver turning in a career-best 10 receptions. Saunders' 138 receiving yards were his second-highest total in that category as well, while his 36-yard scoring grab with 5:26 remaining in the first half opened the scoring on the night for Hamilton. Saunders also had an opportunity to get the Ti-Cats within a two-point conversion of a tie as time expired, but Masoli's pass to him in the end zone fell incomplete. He'll look to keep the momentum from Friday's monster performance going in Week 14 versus the Lions.

Saunders caught four passes for 88 yards in Saturday's 26-22 win over the Redblacks.

It was his most productive performance since he exploded for 147 yards and a TD back in Week 4. Saunders has caught multiple passes in all nine of his CFL games this season and his future looks bright, but the rookie hasn't yet established himself as a consistent fantasy threat, something that may not happen with run-first QB Jeremiah Masoli under center for the Ti-Cats.

Saunders hauled in four receptions for 40 yards in Friday's 37-18 loss to the Redblacks.

Saunders' upside continues to be capped by the mediocre quarterback play of Zach Collaros, who may have lost his starting job after being pulled in the second half Friday. The speedy receiver been very consistent despite the offensive struggles, posting at least four catches in all but one game this season. However, he hasn't topped 53 receiving yards in the last five weeks as the passing game has often sputtered. He and the rest of his teammates will look to regroup and bounce back in Week 11 against the Argos following a Week 10 bye.

Saunders posted four receptions for 33 yards in Saturday's 39-12 loss to the Blue Bombers.

Saunders notched the second-highest reception total on the night for the Ti-Cats, although his yardage total was his second-lowest on the season. The 25-year-old wideout has been reasonably productive, but he's limited by the inconsistent play of QB Zach Collaros, who's thrown at least one interception in all but one game this season. Despite the factors working against him, Saunders has still posted a respectable 26 receptions for 391 yards and two scores while adding 175 yards on kickoff returns.

Saunders posted three receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 33-28 loss to the Eskimos. He also gained 11 yards on his sole rush.

Saunders helped make things interesting by bringing in a 20-yard touchdown with 2:17 remaining to bring the Ti-Cats within five points. The 24-year-old crossed the goal line for only the second time this season, but he's flashed some downfield playmaking ability thus far on an inconsistent offense. Saunders is averaging an impressive 16.0 yards per catch and also sees occasional return opportunities, rendering him a solid DFS play each week. He'll look to keep his strong start to the season going against the Blue Bombers in Week 8.

Saunders hauled in four receptions for 29 yards, totaled seven yards on his sole punt return and added 111 yards on five kickoff returns in Saturday's 60-1 loss to the Stamps.

Saunders would likely be putting up more spectacular numbers on virtually any other team in the league, as his talent and speed are evident each time he takes the field. As it stands, the 24-year-old is finding ways to contribute on special teams as well, having posted eight kickoff returns for 175 yards in the last two weeks. Saunders has no less than four receptions in any game this season, although his yardage totals have dropped each of the last two weeks. Despite his offense's frequent struggles, the former Oklahoma Sooner retains weekly DFS value due to what is usually a modest price and notable upside.

Saunders totaled 53 yards on four receptions and added 64 yards on three kickoff returns in Thursday's 31-28 loss to the Eskimos.

Saunders couldn't quite produce an effort the caliber of last week's 147-yard explosion, but he did maximize his opportunities in the loss. The 24-year-old has played an integral part in the offensive gameplan in each of the three games in which he's seen action, compiling 15 receptions for 278 yards and a touchdown over that span and adding return duties Thursday. Given the Ti-Cats' relative lack of playmakers, Saunders should continue to see plenty of targets each week.

Saunders totaled 147 yards and a touchdown on five receptions in Saturday's 41-26 loss to the Lions.

A week after turning in a solid six-reception, 78-yard effort in his CFL debut, Saunders tallied a team-high receiving yardage total. The former Sooner hauled in a 25-yard scoring strike from Zach Collaros early in the fourth quarter to bring Hamilton to within 34-22 at the time, and he's clearly looking like the Ti-Cats' top receiver in the absence of Terrence Toliver (knee). Saunders will look to continue the stellar start to his CFL career in a Week 5 tilt versus the stingy Eskimos secondary.

Saunders totaled 78 yards on six receptions and gained one yard on his sole rush in Saturday's 37-20 loss to the Roughriders.

The former Oklahoma Sooner was impressive in his CFL debut, co-leading the Ti-Cats in receptions and pacing them in receiving yardage. Saunders logged time with a total of six NFL teams after being drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round in 2014, although the overwhelming majority of that time was spent on practice squads. However, the 24-year-old did amass 203 receptions, 3,085 yards and 26 receiving touchdowns in his college career, while also compiling nearly 1,300 yards in returns. Therefore, Saunders could certainly see his role expand in the coming weeks, particularly with the dearth of playmaking options in the Hamilton receiver corps at present.

Saunders is expected to start Saturday's game against the Roughriders, 3 Down Nation reports.

Saunders opened the season on the Tiger-Cats' practice roster, but it appears he will play a role in Hamilton's passing attack this week, taking the spot of either the injured Terrence Toliver at wide receiver, or Kevin Elliott at slotback.
