RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman posted five receptions for 38 yards in the Blue Bombers' 56-10 win over the Alouettes on Friday.

The veteran got on the stat sheet after having been shut out altogether in Week 1 against his old Eskimos teammates. Bowman five catches checked in second only to Andrew Harris on the night, but his 7.6 YPC still left much to be desired. He'll look to boost up his numbers when the Blue Bombers face off with the Tiger-Cats in a Week 3 showdown.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman failed to catch a pass in the Blue Bombers' 33-30 loss to the Eskimos on Thursday.

After spending the last seven seasons in Edmonton, Bowman returned this offseason to the Winnipeg squad he'd spent his second and third CFL campaigns with. Emotions thus had to be riding high for the veteran in the Week 1 matchup on a couple of fronts, but unfortunately, he came up empty on the stat sheet. Bowman's last chance to make an impact came on rookie quarterback Chris Streveler's last-gasp attempt of the night, which fell incomplete. Naturally, Bowman is expected to be much more of a presence in the passing game than he showed in the opener, although not having veteran Matt Nichols (knee) for several weeks certainly dampens his early-season prospects somewhat. Moreover, the 32-year-old is trying to come back from a subpar 45-reception campaign in 2017 after three straight 1,000-yard seasons, so there will be some questions about his upside until he can hit his stride.

June 4, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught two passes for 46 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason opener against the Eskimos.

Bowman played for the Eskimos last season, and he was able to exact some measure of revenge in his first matchup against his former team. He won't have to wait long for a shot at the Eskimos when it counts: Winnipeg and Edmonton will kick off the CFL regular season when they match up June 14.

February 9, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman signed a one-year deal with Winnipeg on Friday.

The 32-year-old slotback played two seasons for the Blue Bombers back in 2009 and 2010. He rejoins the team after spending seven years in Edmonton. He caught just 45 passes for 534 yards last season, but had at least 93 catches for 1304 yards in each season from 2014 to 2016.

February 5, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman was released by the Eskimos on Monday.

After a lackluster 2017 campaign, the Eskimos decided to part ways with Bowman rather than pay him, making the wide receiver a free agent for the first time since 2011. While he's on the wrong side of 30, Bowman showed he has plenty left in the tank with a two-touchdown performance against Winnipeg in the Western Semi-Final last season. He should garner plenty of interest in free agency, as the 32-year-old has eclipsed 1,300 receiving yards in three of the previous four seasons, and last year's slip-up could conceivably be attributed to his early-season hamstring injury.

November 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught three passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 39-32 win over the Blue Bombers in the Western Semi-Final.

It took a few games for Bowman and Brandon Zylstra to get used to working together, but two duo combined for over 220 receiving yards and three scores in Sunday's win, giving Mike Reilly two potent weapons on the outside heading into next week's clash in Calgary with Bo Levi Mitchell and the Stampeders for the right to represent the West in the Grey Cup.

October 28, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled five receptions for 49 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 29-20 win over the Stampeders.

Bowman has endured what could rightfully be described as the most difficult season of his storied 10-year CFL career, as he's averaged a low-water mark of 11.1 yards per catch and has just 43 receptions for 478 yards through 11 games. However, he may be coming on at just the right time, as he was able to follow up a season-best 136-yard receiving effort in Week 18 with his first multi-touchdown effort of the season Saturday. Bowman will look to continue trending upward in a Week 20 showdown with the Roughriders and carry the momentum into the postseason.

October 22, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught nine passes for 136 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 35-29 overtime win over the Lions. He also added a two-point conversion.

The 32-year-old appears fully healthy and came through with his best game of the season on a night when Brandon Zylstra was struggling. With Edmonton trying to catch Winnipeg for second place in the West Division and the right to host a playoff game in the first round, expect Bowman to be one of Mike Reilly's primary targets over the final two regular-season contests.

September 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught five passes for 41 yards in Monday's 39-18 loss to the Stampeders.

It wasn't exactly a dynamic return to action for Bowman, who'd been out since Week 4 with a hamstring injury. His streak of three straight seasons with at least 1,300 receiving yards will almost certainly be broken, but the 32-year-old should still have a productive finish to 2017.

September 3, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman (hamstring) will start at slotback in Monday's game against the Stampeders.

Bowman has not taken the field since mid-July, but he is ready to return to action in Week 11. Brandon Zylstra has been the Eskimos' top slotback in Bowman's absence, but Bowman could presumably reclaim that spot right away having averaged more than 1,500 yards over the last three years.

August 31, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman (hamstring) is expected to return to action Monday against the Stampeders, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Bowman has not taken the field since Week 4, but he was able to practice last week, and is now set to resume playing for the Eskimos. Bowman's return figures to shake up Edmonton's depth chart some, but he will almost certainly line up as a starting slotback for the team in Week 11.

August 21, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman (hamstring) took part in Monday's practice, Morley Scott of 630 CHED reports.

It's not clear how close Bowman is to returning to action, but Friday's game against the Roughriders will be the sixth since he landed on the six-game injured list, so it should not be long before he is back on the Eskimos' active roster.

July 20, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman (hamstring) was moved to the six-game injured list Thursday, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.

Bowman had already been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Tiger-Cats, but the injury now appears to be even more serious than originally reported. With him being on the six-game list, Bowman will now be out several weeks, and he may not return to action until September.

July 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman (hamstring) was placed on the one-game injured list and will miss Thursday's game against the Tiger-Cats, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Bowman suffered the injury during the Week 4 victory over the Redblacks, where he had three catches 23 yards and a score. His production has been a little down this season, and Vidal Hazelton, D'haquille Williams and Bryant Mitchell could see added targets this week. The team will likely update Bowman's status prior to the Week 6 contest.

July 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman was dealing with a right leg issue for most of Friday's game against Ottawa, Dave Campbell of Inside Sports reports.

It's unclear how this will affect Bowman's status for Thursday's game against Hamilton, but even if he plays through it, there is a possibility that it hampers his production. There will likely be more updates on his status before game time. He caught three passes for 23 yards and one touchdown in Friday's game with Ottawa.

July 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 23 yards and a touchdown on three receptions in Friday's 23-21 win over the Redblacks.

The prolific receiver now has two pedestrian efforts over the Eskimos' first three contests, but he was at least able to salvage the night from a fantasy perspective by getting into the end zone for the second time this season. Bowman's five catches for 36 yards over two of the first three games is of some cause for concern, but given his previous body of work and well-established rapport with signal caller Mike Reilly, he's certainly a candidate to explode in any given contest. He'll look to bounce back when the Eskimos do battle with the Ti-Cats in Week 5.

July 1, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught nine passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in FFriday's 23-19 win over the Alouettes.

After being held in check last week, the CFL's reigning receiving champ wasn't going to be denied in this one, hauling in what proved to be the game-winning score early in the fourth quarter to cap an Edmonton comeback. Bowman may not match his career-high 1,761 receiving yards from last year, but he should still be able to top 1,000 yards for the fourth straight campaign as Mike Reilly's top target.

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled just two receptions for 13 yards in Saturday's 30-27 win over the Lions.

Last season's CFL receiving-yards leader was essentially the forgotten man in Week 1 of the new campaign, as the Lions' secondary did a good job limiting his opportunities. That forced Mike Reilly to often look elsewhere, which led to both Brandon Zylstra and D'haquille Williams eclipsing the 100-yard mark on the night. While that talented pair will certainly see their fair share of opportunities, it's also likely that the Eskimos will make a concerted effort to ensure that Bowman, who racked up 120 catches in 2016, sees more targets in Week 2 against the Als.

June 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman did not suit up for the Eskimos' second preseason game for precautionary reasons, according to the Edmonton Journal.

Bowman led the CFL in receiving yards last season, so head coach Jason Maas decided to give him a few snaps early in Edmonton's first exhibition game and then hold him out until Week 1. Bowman will not have the equally-dynamic Derel Walker lining up on the other side of the field from him this year with Walker giving the NFL a shot, so he could see more attention from opposing defenses if the Eskimos have a difficult time replacing Walker's production.

January 31, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman signed a two-year contract extension with the Eskimos on Tuesday. His deal will keep him in town through the 2018 season.

Bowman racked up a league-high 120 catches and 1,761 receiving yards last season for Edmonton, adding nine touchdowns to his ledger. Now that the contract situation is behind him, the veteran slotback can work toward improving on his career year, entering 2017 as the top target for quarterback Mike Reilly.

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman corralled three receptions for 70 yards and a pair of second-half scores in Sunday's 35-23 Eastern Finals loss to the Redblacks.

After being limited to just one catch for seven yards in the first half, Bowman helped kickstart an Eskimos comeback attempt with a six-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter and a spectacular 57-yard catch-and-run for another score in the fourth. Edmonton's furious rally fell short, however, but the ageless Bowman posted another memorable season in 2016, setting career highs in receptions (120), yardage (1,761) and touchdowns (nine).

November 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught three passes for a team-high 44 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Tiger-Cats in the Eastern Semifinal.

The winds at Tim Hortons Stadium made it almost impossible for either passing game to get going, but Bowman managed to be the most productive of Edmonton's receiving options. Look for Bowman to have a much more productive game next Sunday against the Redblacks in the Eastern Final.

November 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman is on the depth chart for Saturday's game against the Argonauts but is not listed as a starter and will likely have his snaps limited, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

The Eskimos don't know exactly who they will take on in the postseason just yet, but it appears they are more concerned about keeping their players healthy than who they will play, as all of the team's top offensive players -- including fellow receiver Derel Walker -- are either listed as backups or not expected to play the entire game. Brandon Zylstra is the favorite to be the Eskimos' top receiver with the team's top two options likely not playing a full game.

October 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman gained 63 yards on four receptions in Friday's 29-26 win over the Ti-Cats.

Although Brandon Zylstra and Derel Walker spearheaded the air attack Friday, Bowman was still solid in his complementary role. The 31-year-old is now up to a career-best 120 receptions,1,761 yards and nine touchdowns on the season and has at least four catches in nine straight contests.

October 27, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman is listed on the depth chart for Friday's game against the Tiger-Cats.

Bowman sat out a day of practice earlier this week for an undisclosed reason, but regardless he will line up as a starting wide receiver this week as he regularly does. He leads the CFL with 1,609 receiving yards with two regular season games to go, and only teammate Derel Walker has any chance of overtaking him for the top spot.

October 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman did not take part in Tuesday's practice, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

It's not clear why Bowman was held out of Tuesday's session, but his absence leaves his status for Friday's game against the Tiger-Cats in question until more details are released.

October 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman gained 89 yards and scored a touchdown on seven receptions in Saturday's 32-25 loss to the Lions.

The veteran slotback got into the end zone with 34 seconds left, giving the Eskimos a last-gasp hope to tie the game, but the comeback ultimately fell short. The touchdown was the third in the last four weeks for Bowman, who now has career-bests in receptions (116), yardage (1,698) and touchdowns (nine) in 2016. He'll undoubtedly play a key role again in the Week 19 matchup against the Ti-Cats.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 112 yards on six catches in Monday's 40-20 win over the Als.

The veteran slotback inched ever close to his career-high 112 receptions with Monday's production, with his six grabs leaving him just four catches short of eclipsing that total. Bowman has now surpassed the 100-yard mark in four of the last five games as well and came up just three yards short of the milestone in the other game over that span. Bowman is essentially the No. 1 option at receiver for fantasy purposes in the CFL as long as Mike Reilly is behind center and could play an even bigger role than usual in a Week 18 battle with the Lions that could be a high-scoring affair.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught eight passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in Friday's win over the Blue Bombers.

He just missed notching his fourth straight game with 100 or more receiving yards, and Bowman's 1497 yards on the season is already a career high in addition to pacing the CFL. Don't expect him to slow down in the Eskimos' next game on Oct. 10 in Montreal.

September 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught nine passes for 152 yards in Sunday's loss to the Roughriders.

Despite his big yardage total it wasn't an entirely positive performance for Bowman, as his fumble in the second quarter was returned for a TD by Saskatchewan, a key play in what ended up a 26-23 game. Bowman's 1279 receiving yards on the year still leads the CFL though, putting him over 100 yards ahead of teammate Derel Walker for the crown.

September 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 119 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions in Saturday's 34-28 overtime loss to the Stamps.

It was another monster outing for the veteran superstar, who continues to team with Derel Walker to form the most lethal receiver duo in the CFL. Bowman now has 10 receptions on three different occasions this season, but his touchdown Saturday was his first since Week 9. He's now totaled at least 80 catches for the third straight season and has gone over the 1,000-yard mark in all of those campaigns as well.

September 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught seven passes for 52 yards in Monday's loss to the Stampeders.

The seven catches led the team and Bowman is now tied with Saskatchewan's Naaman Roosevelt for the league lead in that category, to go along with his CFL-leading 1008 receiving yards. Expect Bowman to have another productive game Saturday as the Eskimos get a rematch at home with the Stamps.

August 27, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 81 yards on four receptions in Friday's 33-25 victory over the Roughriders.

The veteran superstar didn't have his usual prolific reception total, but made his relatively scant amount of catches count. Bowman turned in a spectacular 46-yard catch-and-run in the second quarter that helped the Eskimos get in position for a Sean Whyte field goal, propelling him over the 80-yard mark for the fourth straight week. While he's only topped 100 yards once in the last five contests, Bowman remains the CFL's leading wideout with 63 receptions for 956 yards and five touchdowns.

August 12, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman gained 107 yards on nine catches in Thursday's 23-12 victory over the Als.

The veteran receiver had totaled a modest 139 yards over the last two games combined prior to Thursday, so the Week 8 production was certainly a welcome sight. Bowman and fellow stalwart Derel Walker both went over the 100-yard mark in the same game for the first time since Week 5, and the 31-year-old remains on target to easily surpass the career-high 93 receptions he managed last season.

August 7, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 96 yards on 10 receptions in Saturday's 23-20 loss to the Redblacks.

A week after struggling with several drops, Bowman bounced back nicely despite the losing effort. The 31-year-old's 10 catches equaled his season high, although the 96 yards represented the second game in a row where he's been under 100 yards. Bowman is on pace for yet another stellar season, already totaling 47 catches for 682 yards and four touchdowns over the first six games.

July 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman managed only 43 yards on three receptions in Thursday's 30-23 loss to the Blue Bombers. He also lost four yards on his sole rush.

The veteran receiver suffered through his first clunker of a performance in the new season, with both his reception and yardage totals easily serving as his lowest numbers in those categories in 2016. It was also the first time over the Eskimos' first five contests that Bowman failed to crack the 100-yard mark, and some uncharacteristic drops were at least partly to blame. The OSU product will look to bounce back in a matchup against Chris Williams and the Redblacks in Week 7.

July 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman totaled 111 yards and a touchdown on nine catches in Saturday's 37-31 loss to the Ti-Cats.

The 31-year-old receiver turned in another one of his trademark performances, making catches all over the field and on a variety of routes. Bowman was outpaced by teammate Derel Walker this week, but given the Eskimos' pass-happy offensive system, he and Walker will undoubtedly continue to alternate the role of top dog virtually on a game-to-game basis. The OSU product has already hauled in 34 catches in just four contests, putting him on pace to potentially exceed his career-best 112-catch season in 2014.

July 15, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman hauled in 10 receptions for 185 yards in Thursday's 20-16 victory over the Blue Bombers.

The veteran receiver was spectacular once again, and looks to be operating at optimal efficiency with quarterback Mike Reilly. Bowman made several impressive grabs, with the most remarkable a 60-yard leaping reception in traffic. The Oklahoma State product has now amassed 432 yards receiving in just three games, putting him well on pace to surpass the career-best 1,456 he totaled in 2014.

July 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman caught six passes for 141 yards and three TDs in Friday's win over the Roughriders.

The 30-year-old remains one of the CFL's top receiving stars, racking up 247 yards through two games after topping 1300 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons. Bowman's chemistry with long-time quarterback Mike Reilly should ensure that he remains a threat to produce big numbers every week.

June 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bowman tallied nine receptions for 106 yards in Saturday's 45-37 overtime loss to the Redblacks.

The 30-year-old wideout got his 2016 campaign off on the right foot, and brought in a 40-yard Mike Reilly pass for his long gain of the day. Bowman is shooting for a third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign, after hauling in 205 receptions for 2,761 yards and 13 touchdowns over the 2014-15 seasons. Particularly if Reilly can remain healthy throughout the season, the feat should definitely be well within reach for the former OSU standout.
