Adams took over for Antonio Pipkin (undisclosed) in the third quarter of the Alouettes' 32-25 loss to the Eskimos on Friday and completed seven of 10 passes for 134 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed three times for 13 yards.
Adams offered a mostly steady hand under center after Pipkin's exit and helped the Alouettes come all the way back to knot the game at 25-25 with 2:18 remaining. However, he made a key error late when he overshot DeVier Posey on the first play of a last-chance possession, leading to an interception by the Eskimos' Anthony Orange with 52 seconds left in regulation. That pick sealed the win for the Eskimos and resulted in a hard-fought defeat for the Als while also blemishing an otherwise productive performance by Adams. Pipkin's status remains uncertain for the moment, but Montreal won't be back in action until Week 3 against the Tiger-Cats.
