RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence rushed eight times for 55 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 30-15 win over the Riders.

The 23-year-old had yet to see any rushing opportunities behind Jeremiah Johnson prior to Saturday, but he parlayed his chance into his first score since Week 2 of 2016. Murray-Lawrence averaged 5.9 yards per carry and notched 11 rushing touchdowns over 19 college games at UNLV during the 2013-14 seasons, so he certainly carries some upside and has fresh legs. His performance Saturday may earn him some rotational reps behind Johnson at times this season, but the latter remains the team's unquestioned lead back.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence is listed on the depth chart for Saturday's game against the Roughriders.

Murray-Lawrence re-signed with the Lions last weekend after being released earlier in the season, and he immediately found a spot on the depth chart. Murray-Lawrence is listed as the No. 3 running back and could see some action in the return game, but he was a healthy scratch after being listed on the depth chart prior to Week 1, so it's still not certain he will suit up Saturday, and his role will be unclear if he does.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence agreed to a contract with the Lions on Sunday, Justin Dunk of 3 Down Nation reports.

Murray-Lawrence was released by the Lions just after Week 1, but given the team's attempt to strengthen its return games the 23-year-old quickly found his way back onto the roster. In all likelihood, Murray-Lawrence will take over return duties once he gets re-acclimated to his role.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence was released by the Lions on Wednesday, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.

Murray-Lawrence has spent the last two seasons with the Lions, but was just a minor contributor during the 2016 campaign, carrying the ball 17 times for 51 yards and a touchdown. His relatively small role made him expendable, so he'll now head to the open free agent market with the hope of latching on elsewhere as a depth option in the backfield.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence is inactive for Friday's matchup with Edmonton.

Murray-Lawrence was attempting to vie for a backup job, but he will not be suiting up for the opening game. He will likely have more opportunities to break into the lineup, yet sitting out this game does not bode well for long-term potential.

June 9, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence is competing for playing time at the running back position behind top back Jeremiah Johnson.

Murray-Lawrence ended last season on the injured list, but his setback has not limited him during training camp. While Johnson is primed to be the top back, he was held out of several games last year in order to stay fresh, so Murray-Lawrence could have a turn or two as the top running back if he is able to secure the No. 2 job.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence (undisclosed) remains on the one-game injured list for Sunday's Western Final matchup with the Stampeders.

Murray-Lawrence will remain sidelined with the setback that has prevented him from suiting up the last two weeks. It remains to be seen if he will be available for the Grey Cup if the Lions advance.

November 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence was placed on the one-game injured list in advance of Saturday's game against the Roughriders.

It's not clear if Murray-Lawrence is banged up or is simply getting the week off, but he will be held out of the Lions' regular season finale.

July 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Murray-Lawrence carried the ball a team-high 13 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Friday's win over the Tiger-Cats.

Seeing his first touches of the season, Murray-Lawrence wasn't as effective on the ground as Jeremiah Johnson (averaging just 3.0 yards a carry to Johnson's 6.3) but compensated by punching in a two-yard score in the third quarter. He'll likely continue to take a back seat to Johnson in the Lions' backfield going forward, however.
