Retires from professional football
Hunter announced Friday that he will retire from professional football.
ANALYSIS
Hunter just signed with the Argonauts in February, so the news of the former NFL running back calling it a career comes as a bit of a surprise. Once a fourth round selection, Hunter played in 45 NFL games (43 of which were with the 49ers) and totaled 1,204 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns in that time. Hunter had a very good chance of nailing down the starting running back job for Toronto this offseason, but instead, the team will have to have their committee of backs currently on their roster battle it out for the No. 1 spot.
