Bear Bachmeier News: Still contending for starting spot

Bachmeier and McCae Hillstead remain in contention to be the Cougars' starting quarterback, BYU announcer Greg Wrubell reports.

After it was announced that Jake Retzlaff would leave BYU, the Cougars' quarterback position came down to a three-man competition including Bachmeier, Hillstead and Treyson Bourguet. BYU's offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick has made it clear that Bourguet is out of the running, leaving Bachmeier and Hillstead just under three weeks to step up their game before the Cougars host Portland State on Aug. 30.
