Brandon Rose News: Wins starting QB gig

Rose will be UMass' Week 1 starter, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.

Rose beat out both AJ Hairston and Grant Jordan to lock up the Minutemen's starting quarterback gig. The transfer from Utah tossed for 157 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions last season in three games for the Utes, adding 66 rushing yards. He'll make his UMass debut on August 30 versus Temple.
