Conner Harrell News: Named 49ers' starter

Harrell has won Charlotte's quarterback competition, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.

Harrell was in a battle with Grayson Loftis and Zach Wilcke, but the North Carolina transfer was considered the favorite to start for much of the offseason. Last fall in Chapel Hill, Harrell tossed for 282 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while rushing for a touchdown as well. He got just one start and was limited to mop-up action elsewhere, but he's parlayed his Power Four experience into a starting gig at his new program.
