Drew Mestemaker News: Wins starting job

Mestemaker won the positional battle and will start under center for the 2025 season, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.

The redshirt freshman found himself in a quarterback competition throughout camp with Reese Poffenbarger but has earned himself the starting role to kick off the season. The 6-foot-4 signal-caller completed 30 of 46 passes for 462 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions across four appearances during the 2024 campaign.
