Evan Simon News: Taking first-team snaps in practice

Simon took all of the reps with the first-team offense in Temple's practice session Monday, per 247Sports.com.

Simon has been battling with Gevani McCoy for the starting quarterback role in Philly, but it appears he either firmly has the edge or he's already won the job, with the latter seeming more likely considering it's game week and the Owls will open their season against UMass on Saturday. After a solid season with Temple last fall (2,032 yards, 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 58.8 percent completion), Simon appears set to run it back as the starting gunslinger.
