Gideon Davidson News: Repping with backup QB in practice

Davidson took handoffs from backup QB Chris Vizzina during practice Wednesday, Jon Blau of The Charleston Post and Courier reports.

Davidson is viewed as a freshman with plenty of promise and one who could carve out a regular role this fall, but he may not have earned his way up the pecking order quite yet. Adam Randall and Keith Adams both took handoffs from starter Cade Klubnik, which could indicate the two currently sit ahead of Davidson in the pecking order. Even if that's the case, Davidson still has some time left in camp to showcase his skills and move more into the forefront as Week 1 approaches.
