Gio Lopez News: Two touchdowns in blowout

Lopez was 10-for-18 passing for 119 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 41-6 victory over Richmond. He also had 11 rushes for 40 yards with one touchdown.

It's tough to learn much about Lopez from this performance. He again struggled with his efficiency (55 percent completion) and only tossed for 119 yards, but he did score twice, protect the football and help lead the Tar Heels to a blowout, albeit over an FCS opponent. He'll continue to be the man under center for North Carolina moving forward, but his play will need to take a jump with a game against Central Florida on tap and the ACC schedule looming.
