Grayson Loftis News: Misses out on starting role

Loftis will start the season as one of the backups to quarterback Conner Harrell, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.

Loftis was in a three-man competition for the starting quarterback role with the 49ers, but he ultimately will be a backup at least for the season opener. The 6-foot-3 quarterback will now be in a supplementary position with minimal to no playing time, barring any injuries or unsatisfactory output from Harrell.
