Jace Clarizio Injury: Dealing with calf injury

Clarizio is dealing with a calf injury and his status for Week 1 against Western Michigan is uncertain, head coach Jonathan Smith told media Tuesday, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press.

Clarizio is not expected to play a big role out of the backfield for the Spartans. Still, his potential absence trims the depth a bit in the position. If he's unable to play Friday, expect Jay Coyne and Makhi Frazier to potentially experience an uptick in fantasy consideration, though neither is expected to see a big workload as long as Elijah Tau-Tolliver and Brandon Tullis are healthy.
