Jack Layne News: Three picks in FBS debut

Layne completed 31 of 47 passes for 208 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions during Saturday's 34-17 defeat to Michigan. He also had five rushes for -12 yards.

Layne was forced to throw early and often in Saturday's opener against a tough Michigan defense, though he ultimately averaged just 4.4 yards per completion while turning the ball over three times. Layne, who threw for 1,472 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions with FCS Idaho last season, should have an easier time in Week 2 against Idaho State.
