Jake Retzlaff News: Likely favorite to start opener
Retzlaff is the likley favorite to start in Saturday's game against Northwestern with Brendan Sullivan's (foot) status uncertain, Garland Gillen of Fox 8 News reports.
Retzlaff and Sullivan were splitting first-team reps during the duration of fall camp until Sullivan went down with a foot and ankle injury. With Sullivan being a true game-time decision for the season opener, Retzlaff is likely to start the game regardless of his teammate's status. This doesn't mean reps won't be taken away from the former BYU quarterback in the showing against the Wildcats, but he will get to lead the helm at the start.
