Jayden Mandal News: Loses out on starting job
Mandal has lost out on the starting job ahead of the season opener at Kansas on Aug. 23, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports.
Mandal was one of three quarterbacks vying for the starting gig in fall camp, but he was ultimately beat out by E.J. Warner, a transfer from Rice and son of Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. He will compete against Carson Conklin to be the Bulldogs' backup QB, though Warner's position atop the depth chart could change if things go south, so winning the backup gig could still prove fruitful if Mandal can secure it.
