John Mateer News: Efficient in win

Mateer completed 18 of 26 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 26-7 win over South Carolina. He also had eight rushes for 14 yards.

The junior signal-caller bounced back from a rough outing by settling into a cleaner, mistake-free rhythm. He did not throw an interception and kept the offense moving in a game where the defense carried much of the load. With the Sooners next facing Ole Miss, Mateer will need to continue protecting the football while finding ways to stretch the field, especially against a tough defensive unit.
