Maalik Murphy News: Stellar in Beavers defeat

Murphy improved in his second start for Oregon State completing 31-of-48 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns in the 36-27 loss to Fresno State.

With the copious throws, Murphy was sacked twice and ran for a minus-15 yards. In an interesting tidbit, Murphy failed on all four two-point conversions as the Beavers went each time for two points. Oregon State travels to Texas Tech on Saturday, Sept. 13. The Red Raiders defense is 28th in the country against the pass, but they have faced weak competition. Last season, Texas Tech was at the bottom in the country against the pass.
