Malachi Nelson News: Could play his way into starting

Nelson could play his way into the mix to be the Miners' starting quarterback ahead of their 2025 season, Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times reports.

Nelson transferred from Boise State to UTEP to get more opportunities under center. Even though may not be the case if Skylar Locklear remains UTEP's preferred quarterback, Nelson is making a case, most notably with his athleticism that got him recruited to USC in 2023.
