Maurice Turner News: Slated to start at running back

Turner won Tulane's starting running back job, Guerry Smith of Nola.com reports.

Turner was expected to at least head Tulane's running back committee back in May, and it seems he's claimed the "starter" title heading into the season. The 5-foot-10 Louisville transfer joined the team back in January, and he'll already be making a big impact in the season opener this Saturday against Northwestern. He will still likely share carries with Jamauri McClure and possibly more ball carriers, but Turner looks to be the first man in line heading into the season.
