Nathanial Vakos News: Will open season as starting kicker

Vakos will open the season as Wisconsin's starting kicker, per John Steppe of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Vakos was in a battle with Gavin Lahm, Wisconsin's kickoff specialist, for the starting field goal kicker spot all offseason. While they're listed as an "Or" on the depth chart, head coach Luke Fickell confirmed that Vakos would open the season as the starting kicker. Vakos had a down year in 2024, hitting just 12-of-19 field goal attempts.
