Nicco Marchiol News: Possesses edge in QB competition

Marchiol is the frontrunner to be West Virginia's starting quarterback for Week 1, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

For 2025, Marchiol decided to re-enroll at West Virginia, needing a primary quarterback with Garrett Greene turning pro. Even though Marchiol's primary competition includes an SEC transfer in Jaylen Henderson, the former is favored just over two weeks before the Mountaineers are back in action by hosting Robert Morris on Aug. 30.
