Skyler Locklear News: Looks like favorite to start

Locklear looks like the Miners' favorite to start under center ahead of their 2025 season, Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times reports.

Locklear's 2024 campaign was his first with UTEP, and he showcased some promise by logging 1,583 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. However, the quarterback was not their primary option under center then, something he will look to rectify in 2025. Locklear's primary competition is Malachi Nelson, an athletic transfer from Boise State.
