Steve Angeli News: Slight edge in QB competition

Angeli has a slight edge over Rickie Collins in the battle for the starting gig under center for Syracuse, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports. However, the team has two scrimmages remaining on the schedule.

Angeli looks to be leading by a bit to this point in camp, but things could change, depending on how the scrimmages go over the next couple of weeks. Rickie Collins was named the starter after spring, but the Orange added Angeli from the transfer portal after that, and the two have been duking it out in camp. Hopefully, an official word on the starter will surface prior to the team's season opener Aug. 30 against Tennessee.
