Tayven Jackson News: Expected to serve as backup

Jackson is set to begin the 2025 season in a backup role as fellow quarterback Cam Fancher is set to be named UCF's starter for the 2025 season, per Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com.

Jackson was competing for the starting job with Fancher and fellow signal caller Jacurri Brown but appears to have fallen behind in the battle. The 6-foot-4 quarterback joined the Knights after transferring in from Indiana in the offseason where he served as the primary backup for Kurtis Rourke in 2024. It is thus far unclear whether Jackson or Brown is viewed as the primary backup.
