Xavier Townsend News: Scores rushing TD in blowout win

Townsend hauled in all three targets for 34 yards during Saturday's 55-7 win over South Dakota. He also added a 11-yard rushing touchdown.

Townsend recorded his first rushing touchdown since 2022 when he scored at Tulane in Week 14 as a member of UCF. The transfer didn't see much work in Week 0 but did get four touches against South Dakota. It will be interesting to see how his target share progresses as the season goes on. Iowa State will have a much tougher opponent in in-state rival Iowa next week.
