Curtis McNeal has the starting job locked down after a 2011 season in which he ran for 1,005 yards and averaged 6.9 yards per carry. Morgan will be a backup after a freshman campaign in which he ran for 163 yards, but only averaged 3.9 yards per carry. Morgan should see an increase in carries for the 2012 season, but will not come close to getting the bulk of touches at Southern California unless Morgan gets hurt.

With Marc Tyler always in trouble and Dillon Baxter failing to impress as a freshman, Morgan is a player who could emerge as a factor in the USC backfield this year. He's undersized, but he possesses standout athleticism and big-play ability in what should be a fairly high-flying offense. If he can pull ahead of Tyler and Baxter, Morgan will be worth a look in most scenarios.
