Few receivers have matched Davis' career numbers the last three years, and at 6-2, 190, Davis brings the size and speed of a true No. 1 WR. He scored eight receiving touchdowns in each of his three seasons with the Chippewas, totaling 2,720 yards through the air over that span. He posted 1,109 yards and eight scores in 11 games last year despite playing with first-year quarterback Cooper Rush, who should improve as he heads into his second year. Davis' floor – about 1,100 yards and eight scores – is higher than most receivers, and he offers plenty of upside.
Davis is one of the nation's most explosive big-play threats with the talent to emerge as a WR1 in fantasy leagues, but he's a concern from a consistency standpoint, particularly after character criticisms culminated in Davis getting suspended for his team's bowl game matchup with Western Kentucky. It should be noted, however, that Davis has averaged 19.4 yards per catch over his first 83 receptions, and his 16 touchdowns over that span further indicate big-time upside. With Cody Wilson (74 catches in 2012) gone, Davis could explode this year if he keeps his head on straight.
If rankings were based solely on upside, Davis would be ranked higher. He was monstrous toward the end of his true freshman season, totaling 34 catches for 533 yards and seven touchdowns in the final six weeks last year, including 10 receptions for 192 yards and two scores against Kent State, the MAC's toughest pass defense. Since Davis was a bit of a late bloomer last season, though, he’s riskier than others in this range.
