Past Fantasy Outlooks
2015
2013
Cross is a 6-foot-1, 240-pound power back with a running style similar to the neck-roll bruisers of the ‘80s and ‘90s. He finished second in rushing on the team among running backs last year, compiling 384 yards and five touchdowns on 75 carries. However, he’s generally regarded as a fullback tweener and a short-yardage specialist rather than a true starting candidate. Cross will likely wait behind Terrell Newby for carries.
Cross won't be a feature back with Ameer Abdullah still in town, but he's enough of a goal-line vulture that he might obtain relevance in Big Ten-only and other formats. He ran for 324 yards and seven scores on just 55 carries last year, and there should be muchmore work than that available with Rex Burkhead and Braylon Heard no longer around.
