Joe Southwick

Southwick will need to hold off Nick Patti for the starting Boise State quarterback spot, but he's generally the favorite to win that role heading into the fall. After sitting behind Kellen Moore the past two years, Southwick has had enough time to get a good grasp on the Boise State system, and his limited playing time (400 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while averaging 7.4 YPA) has been promising. Given his generally blank slate and uncertain role, however, Southwick is a player to monitor for the most part.
