JD Spielman
Wide ReceiverWR
Nebraska Cornhuskers
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Spielman didn’t experience a major breakout during his first season under coach Scott Frost as many believed, but he did a significant uptick in both receptions (66 from 55 in 2017) and receiving touchdowns (eight from two in 2017) despite playing one fewer game. With Stanley Morgan Jr. out of the picture in Lincoln, Spielman should be headed for a larger target share in 2019. Adrian Martinez heads into his second season under center, which likely portends to an improved offensive attack and, potentially, additional production for Spielman. Read Past Outlooks
Held out of scrimmage
WRNebraska
Undisclosed
August 16, 2019
Spielman (undisclosed) was held out of Nebraska's scrimmage Friday, Mitch Sherman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Husker's top receiver has been dealing with a minor issue and was not allowed to play in the scrimmage Friday. The Cornhusker's are hurting a bit at the wide receiver position and would love to get Spielman back on the field as soon as possible. The junior was second on the team last season with 66 receptions for 818 yards and led all wideouts with eight touchdowns.
