2018 Fantasy Outlook
Black stood out during spring practice and has boosted himself into a lead position for boosted reps come the 2018 campaign. He displayed his ability and explosiveness early in the 2017 campaign, snagging 11 passes for 149 yards in the first three games before a broken foot robbed him of the remaining games. He surpassed some of the more highly touted freshman like Donovan Peoples-Jones early in the season and may prove to be the Maize and Blue's best all-around receiver in 2018. The receiver groups continued development and the addition of Shea Patterson from Ole Miss should lead to a more balanced Wolverines attack. Black should remain a centerpiece in that improved passing game, possessing ideal size at 6-foot-4. Read Past Outlooks
'Back in form' for Peach Bowl
WRMichigan
December 29, 2018
Black's teammates relayed during Friday's media session that they feel like the star wideout is back in form in advance of Saturday's Peach Bowl matchup with Florida, Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News reports.
ANALYSIS
Black made a big impression out of the gate as a freshman in 2017 before a broken left foot disrupted that season. He returned healthy this fall for his sophomore campaign but then broke his right foot and required surgery prior to the season-opening loss at Notre Dame. Black was cleared to return Oct. 20 and has appeared in five games, notching only two receptions for 20 yards over that stretch. The receiver had been limited in many of those games coming off injury, but the long layoff prior to the bowl game seems to have done him some good. Don't be surprised if he takes on an enhanced role behind Donovan Peoples-Jones and Nico Collins on Saturday.
